A little about me: I’m an experienced teacher, and I’ve lived and taught in Europe for five years. I’ve recently moved back to Victoria, and I am now offering private English lessons in person or online.

I completed my TESOL certification in Ottawa in 2007, but I didn’t start traveling and teaching full-time until 2013. I started traveling with a quest to find purpose and meaning, and luckily it didn’t take long to find it. Within a month of living in Rome, I landed my first teaching job at SpeakEasy Language School and I soon discovered that I had an intense passion for teaching.

I fell in love with teaching especially because of the doors it opened for my students. Whether it was to connect with people while traveling, improve their job prospects, or overcome the difficulties they faced at school, helping my students and empowering them through acquiring this fundamental skill has been incredibly rewarding.

After Rome, I traveled to Spain and I worked there for over two years; in Malaga and in Lanzarote. In Lanzarote I decided to focus on providing private lessons in person and online, which enriched my experience even more. I’ve accumulated a variety of skills along the way, such as managing the challenges of having different levels in one classroom, figuring out effective ways to prepare students for exams, and most importantly finding the best ways to keep my students motivated and engaged.
