Hello!
I am an experienced elementary educator and ENL (English as a New Language) teacher with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am currently working as a substitute teacher, primarily in elementary schools, while completing the process for my New York State teaching certification.

Through my work as a substitute, I have gained broad, hands-on experience across multiple grade levels and classroom settings, including ICT classrooms, special education classes, dual-language programs, and Gifted & Talented (G&T) classes. This has allowed me to develop strong instructional flexibility and the ability to meet students where they are academically and emotionally.

I am confident teaching Math, ELA, and Science, and I also bring a strong parent perspective to my work, as I am actively involved in my own 5th grader’s education. I truly believe that every child can succeed when given the right amount of time, support, and resources. Each learner is different, and I believe there are no unsuccessful children—only children whose learning needs have not yet been fully met.

I am a native Turkish speaker, and both of my children are fluent in Turkish. I am confident in my ability to teach Turkish language to children and adults at various levels. In addition, I have a passion for Turkish cooking, and I also offer engaging and practical Turkish cooking classes for those who are interested in learning both the language and the culture through food.
