As a learning specialist with 12 years of experience, I opened Roots Learning Center to be a helpful service for families to lean on. Throughout my years of teaching experience within various school settings (general & special education, homeschooling) in NYC, I learned the impact that can be made when a student is met with a learning environment that understands their needs. Appreciating the roots of a student's learning profile is essential in helping them grow. I strive to establish an authentic environment that supports all learners in solidifying the roots of academic skills, while gaining self-confidence as students. I support all learners in solidifying foundational reading, writing, and math concepts and skills. My expertise in special education drives explicit and individualized instruction with a devotion to using the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching reading and spelling to all learners.
