My travels and my previous work experiences have instilled in me a passion for working with others of all ages and different cultures and abilities. I have earned my TESOL/TESL/TEFL certificate and I have degrees in philosophy, religious studies, and liberal arts and sciences. In my experience, the most effective teachers have been those that encouraged effective learning and progress by taking an active interest in their students. In the classroom I strive to develop a rapport with my students by focusing on their needs and encouraging their strengths. I believe every student has the potential to be great. My most recent work experience has been in ESL education in China. Working with Chinese students has taught me how to overcome communication boundaries in creative and meaningful ways. Through these experiences I have learned how to adapt quickly and easily to changes and obstacles.
