Hi! My name is Dena, I'm a recent grad living in NYC (but looking to trade virtual lessons during quarantine.) I've never taught adult learners but in college I tutored middle school students in a variety of subjects. I love teaching and sharing skills and I'm hoping to spend some of my time in quarantine learning something new.
I can teach:
LSAT - I took the LSAT in September and scored a 169. I started at a 152 and studied for 5 months. I really immersed myself in studying and I think the test is very learnable. I'd love to help someone put together a study plan or break down test questions.
Guitar (beginner) - I am a performing musician and have been playing guitar for years. I still don't always know the names of the chords I'm playing higher up on the fretboard, so I'd only be confident teaching beginner guitar.
English - I'm looking to practice my beginner-intermediate Spanish with someone who is looking to practice their English. I think I have enough of a basic command of the language that we could practice via conversation rather than exchange formal lessons, but I would also be open to putting lessons together.
I'm looking to learn:
Spanish - My Spanish is beginner/intermediate. I can say very basic things and understand about 30-40% of Spanish TV (I'm currently binge watching Elite). I would love to do informal Spanish lessons or just practice with someone more advanced than me.
Board Games - I lost my job due to the pandemic but will be working at a board game cafe (family business) after businesses re-open. I know very few games and need to learn a lot more before the job starts.
Guitar (advanced) - I've been playing for years but would love to learn new picking patterns, scales and improve my music theory knowledge.
