Donat began teaching when she was in high school and carefully developed a teaching philosophy over the years that values communication, adaptability, self-directed learning, goal setting, problem solving, expression, and patience.
In addition to bass lesson teaching independently and at The Hackley School, she taught beginner musicianship classes as a Teaching Fellow for Juilliard’s CLIMB (Combining Literacy with Musical Beginning) program. She has also taught hundreds of ESL students age 6-18 through the Ringle platform.
Donat performed with the North Carolina Symphony (substitute), Turkish American Orchestra, Charleston Symphony (substitute), Peabody Orchestra, and with the Juilliard Orchestra in locations such as Carnegie Hall, David Geffen Hall, and Alice Tully Hall.
