Hello! I've always loved teaching and learning... there's nothing more exciting to me! I enjoy teaching all subjects but early literacy has an extra special place in my heart. I always strive to create positive and joyful learning environments. It's so important to me that a child feels confident and capable as they grow!
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University, as well as an English as a Second Language Endorsement. I taught in the public schools for 8 years, in both first and second grades! A professional learning highlight for me was completing the 2-year LETRS course, which gave me lots of great insights and skills for teaching reading and spelling, based on the latest research and best practices. I've been private teaching for the last year and a half.
When I'm not teaching, I love reading, learning random things (thanks, YouTube!), going on walks, and planning fun trips!
