Irina Pidberejna, UCF Russian Language Instructor. She has a B.A. in Visual Arts and Emerging Media Management, M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages; M.A. in teaching Russian as a foreign language. She is currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on young bilingual learners. With over ten years of teaching experience with all ranges of learners from pre-school to PhD students in the fields of language education including ESL and Russian as a Foreign Language. Irina was a STARTALK Lead Instructor for 8 years responsible for curriculum development, teaching, teacher training, and program logistics. During the STARTALK Program, she taught high school students (Novice-Intermediate) and University Students (Novice-Intermediate High). She has participated in multiple grants including Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (Russia/Ufa 2015), Fulbright-Hays Grant Group Project Abroad (2018), FY14 U.S. Russia Peer-to Peer Dialogue Program (2014) where she has organized and led both teacher and student groups to complete and implement various cross-cultural projects and community outreach. She is MACTE American Montessori Society (AMS) credentialed 3-6 teacher and combines Montessori and language learning in hybrid/homeschool contacts.
