Hi! My name is Alexis Nelson and I am originally from Ohio where I grew up and then received my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University in 2020. I then moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and taught in multiple different school districts before accepting a full time job in Phoenix, Arizona where I currently teach third grade. I enjoy challenging my students and working one on one with them to meet their individual learning needs.
In my free time I enjoy traveling, hiking, paddle boarding and spending time with my two Australian Shepards, Finn and Vada. I am moving to Houston, TX this upcoming summer of 2023 to be with my long term boyfriend who is currently working towards his MS in philosophy from the University of Houston.
I am very interested in pursing my MA in curriculum development as I would eventually like to design and create curriculum that is individualized for a variety of different students.
