Hi,
My name is Tejal Gohil and I am pursuing my Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. I have strong Computer Science and Information Technology background through my academic. I am self-motivated and eager to learn new things and dedicated towards my work.
I was a part of Costco in Summer 2016 as an Intern in Global People Solutions department, SAP/OM/PA team. It was my first-time US retail industrial experience and enjoyed my job. My assignment was to solve the defects in existing system by enhancing the features of existing system with deadline. I was assigned to develop solutions using SAP ABAP Programming language and it was new for me but I successfully met the expectation of my manager and mentors. I also gave presentations to my manager and other employees on SAP Hana. I worked closely with Business Intelligence team on one project using Agile methodology and DevOps approach. I built two analytics reports using SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence. I also participated in meeting with business to collect the business needs. I also made presentation to transfer the knowledge to business users. During my internship, I attended many seminars to understand the Costco and how each department works like bakery, liquor department and sells, how they make the revenue etc.
During my study, I worked on an object-oriented programming languages like C/C++, Java, Python using various algorithmic approach. I also have knowledge of relational DBMS systems like MySQL, SQL as well as Modern System Analysis and Design.
I am always eager to learn new technologies like BigData, Internet of Things (IoT). I am also working on a research project with my professor to evaluate the edge devices in Internet of Things. We are building an IoT application using sensors, Raspberry Pi, AWS Web Services, RESTful API, JSON, AWS IoT, Azure, Google App Engine. I also developed Bigdata project using Pig, Hive, Hadoop, Python 3.5 with NLTK library on Hortonworks sandbox 2.5. The main goal of the project was to analyses the sentiment of customer review from Yelp dataset.
