Hi, my name is Jael Penn, and I live in Houston, TX(77042). I am an early childhood and elementary educator who is Texas certified teacher for elementary (grades 1-8) and special education (grades PK-12). My speciality training and experience is predominantly primary grades, ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, ASD, and all levels for English language arts. I love to teach reading and help the kids who struggle. My philosophy is that education should not be one size fits all. My job is to find out how the student learns and use a multi-sensory approach to make sure they do. I am adept at screening and assessing for deficits and cognitive weaknesses. This prescriptive approach helps me pinpoint the root of the learning challenge.
I am available to teach in person within 20-25 miles of where I live and online near the Galleria area. A parent or another adult needs to be at home if you prefer in person lessons. All I ask is that the student and I have a quiet space to work without distractions such as a kitchen table area etc. Students are expected to have a folder and/or primary notebook to keep notes and other resources I give the student., They should also have a pencil, pen, colored pencils for interactive notes and a laptop or tablet in case they need to bookmark a lesson or video to review later.
Thank you for considering my teaching or tutoring services!
