While studying at the University of New Hampshire for my master's degree in history I worked as a teacher's assistant for an undergraduate course, leading discussion based classes and assisting students with their reading and writing. Helping students grow in their knowledge of the material and enabling them to improve their ability to read and write effectively was the most rewarding part of this job, and I look forward to any opportunity to help students deepen their understanding of history and literature while also giving them the practical tools necessary to perform well in a demanding academic environment. My favorite part of teaching was actually working with students who had little interest in or prior knowledge of the material, and finding ways to engage them and make the material more accessible and relevant to them.

I have a BA and MA in ancient history, and was accepted into several PhD programs for ancient history and classics. While my my degrees were specialized in ancient Graeco-Roman history I was also extensively educated in numerous aspects of world history, including early American history, several periods of later European history, and the history Egypt and the Middle East.
