With a Bachelor's Degree in the fine arts and two years of teaching middle school in the classroom behind me, I am delighted to now turn my attention to personal education. Having experienced home, private, and public schooling throughout my childhood, I am well-rounded in the constructs of each and understand the desire for for a focused, one-on-one setting with encouraging instructors and no wasted time.

My favorite aspects of education center around curiosity and expression. I love asking 'why' questions and delight in the process of uncovering and documenting the answer, hence my love for algebra, the arts, and the written language--process, creativity, and articulation. My methods involve breaking down the large, undigestible concepts into smaller pieces. This process usually begins with asking 'what are we actually doing?' and building on this foundation using real-life scenarios.

When writing, my first question is always 'who am I speaking with?' because narrating myself, often found in creative writing, sounds vastly different than sharing insight with professionals in a field of study (research essay) or explaining a business proposal to a board (persuasive essay). Writing is the art behind thinking before speaking and learning to articulate thoughts well.

As for the fine arts, I welcome inquiry on specific areas of interest because my subjects include a wide range from oil/acrylic painting to fiber arts (knitting/crochet), scratch art, oil pastels, and charcoal/pencil sketching.
