Having taught in four states over the last 25 years, has provided me insight as to various educational systems and expectations. It has encouraged me to challenge myself and continue learning. My years of experience has taught me many things, most importantly, the significance of fostering a positive learning environment for scholars and building solid relationships with families. I am dedicated to improving academic performance for learners, as well as my own professional growth. I believe in educating the whole child, attending to all needs. My personal experience with my own children play a crucial role in my approach to teaching.

Not only have I been a college mentor, classroom educator and reading interventionist, I have taken on several leadership roles in the buildings I have worked in. As a School Improvement Team Leader, Literacy Leadership Representative, and writing committee chairperson, I have worked extensively with staff and have conducted several professional development training. With a collaborative approach, I am always looking to enhance educational practices.

I have completed a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. My Master of Arts degree in Teaching Reading was awarded from Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan.

In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, reading, and watching sporting events!
