I have a very diverse and extensive background, both in Criminal Justice and Education. I have both a Highly Qualified Arizona Teaching License, and I also am an Illinois certified K-9 teacher, with endorsements in Science, Social Studies, Consumer and Family Science, Reading/Language Arts, and Sociology.
During the seventeen years that I have spent in the classroom, I have tutored both adults and children in all subject areas, and I have been teaching English as a Second Language for 13 years. One of my favorite things to do is helped write curriculum for our Continuing Education Program.
Over the years, I have realized the benefit of recognizing and supporting the whole student with their inherent talents and their unique circumstances. I believe there is a direct and positive correlation to connecting with students and their families in an authentic manner. It is essential to each child’s growth that they realize that they are valued by the adults in their world. I make certain that each of my students is clear that I am on their “team” cheering them on to academic, social and emotional victory.
I have a passion for giving back to society what they have given me, by teaching, I feel like I am able to accomplish this. I have developed the caring, integrity, sensitivity, and people skills that would be a great asset to your company.
I am available after 4 pm Mountain Time until May 14th, then I would be available at your convenience. I can teach/tutor history, ELA, ESL, government, and all elementary subjects.
