I'm a skilled, compassionate, and effective teacher; I've taught students from 5 years old to 95 years old in a wide range of literary forms and genres. I believe a positive learning experience impacts students for the rest of their lives in resonant ways. My gift is meeting students where they are, and evoking individual curiosity, confidence, and inspiration. I've developed an innovative educational creativity thought-model called "Poetic Intelligence," which involves breaking down poetry into an applied conceptualization and abstraction thought-method to be applied in all subjects, yet it's highly accessible, relatable, and translatable. Students THRIVE! They gain confidence in their own capacity to create, express and explore. I was the 2023 Santa Fe Poet Laureate ambassador.
