My name is Lindsey Gregory and I have a passion for building students that struggle to effectively read and write into successful, real-world readers and writers. I promote students' success through developing trust, providing support and connection, and building community. I have a deep belief in the magnitude of cultivating an enthusiasm for achieving all goals, but especially goals pertaining to students' literacy.
In May of 2018 I earned my bachelor's degree in Literature from the University of Houston-Clear Lake with an English/Language Arts certification for grades seven through twelve, and a supplemental certificate for English as a Second Language for grades seven through twelve. Upon entering the classroom in the fall of 2018, I knew I wanted to know more about building strong foundations for teaching students labeled 'at risk' to read and write. Therefore, in the summer of 2020, I embarked on a master's program that would help me do just that. In the spring of 2022, I earned my master's degree in Reading from The University of Texas at Tyler with a K-12 Reading Specialist certification. Additionally, I also hold an associate degree in General Studies from San Jacinto College and memberships in both the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, for high academic achievement, and Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society, for high academic standing in Literature courses.
Since beginning my journey in education, I have taught English I, English II, English III, and English IV, as well as Reading and Critical Instruction in English, to high school students.
I am looking forward to continuing to make an impact on future generations through teaching students that struggle with literacy to read and write in authentic ways.
