I graduated Cum Laude in 1997 from Xavier University with degrees in Early Childhood Education and Primary (3-6 year old) Montessori Education. I currently hold a Teaching License in South Carolina.
From 1997-2001, I taught at Montessori Schools in Mighigan and South Carolina. From 2001-2016, I was fortunate to be able to stay at home and raise my 2 sons until they were in middle school. I also was a substitute teacher at their school from 2005-2016.
From 2016 until now, I have taught full time. I have taught Kindergarten, First Grade and 3-4 year old preschool. I have taught in very different schools, from Title 1 to one of the highest performing schools in South Carolina.
I have a passion for teaching and caring for children. I have loved being able to help each one of them be as successful, and feel as special, as possible.
I applied to this job because I am looking to move away from the traditional classroom. After 25 years and my children moving away, I recently relocated from South Carolina to Knoxville. I have family in town and my sons are just a few hours from here. I was looking for a fresh start as I begin the second part of my life and career. This seems like a great time to transition out of the classroom and to use my experience and skills in another way.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
