To whom it may concern,
Hi, I'm Stacie Kelley! I am highly interested in the teaching position currently available. Let me tell you a little bit about me. I am an elementary special education teacher from Iron City, Tennessee. I have been passionate about education as my dream career since I was in elementary school myself! Through serving as a teacher's aid in our local elementary's Special Education classroom, I became interested in working with students with exceptionalities. At this time, I also developed my teaching philosophy: "Every student has the potential to progress towards success and it is our role as educators to give them the support that they need to be successful, regardless of what that may look like for each unique child." I completed both my Bachelor's in Elementary Education and Collaborative Special Education (K-6) and Master's in Special Education (K-12) at the University of North Alabama. This was such a unique teacher preparation program because we had an elementary school on campus! As I completed my classes and clinicals, I substitute taught in my home school system. I then completed an internship in both General Education (2nd grade) and Special Education (3rd/4th grade). Upon graduating, I began teaching elementary Special Education; I have worked with a wide range of grades (K-8th), exceptionalities (DD, SLD, OHI, OI, SLI, AUT, ED, HI, ID, TBI, MD), caseload sizes (18-48), and IEP teams. I have hosted
250 IEP meetings and written many IEPs and BIPs. I make an excellent candidate for your Elementary Special Education teaching position because I am a passionate, dependable, experienced educator. I have worked with K-8 students for 3 years, and I prefer teaching lower elementary school because my optimistic personality is excellent for building rapport with younger students. I believe that smiles are contagious and students deserve a happy, safe place to go to school. I have experience teaching reading, math, social skills, and functional life skills. I value collaboration as the key to our students' success, amongst teachers, families, administration, SLPs, OTs, PTs, counselors, and so many more individuals that interact with our students on a daily basis. I am dedicated to student progress and celebrating even the smallest victories! I am organized with documentation and always remain in compliance with paperwork. I would love the opportunity to contribute to the wonderful learning and family involvement! Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Stacie Kelley
