Hi! My name is Nina. I have been teaching in a first grade classroom (all subjects, self contained) for 2 years. I have a Masters of Arts in Teaching and am a certified teacher for early childhood through 6th grade. In addition, I have lots of experience teaching multilingual learners and am certified in teaching English as a second language. I have successfully completed Texas Reading Academies and have taken the science of teaching reading certification exam. I am most passionate about early literacy and helping kids become confident and joyful readers using the science of teaching reading! I am also passionate about helping elementary students love math and build math strategies to become problem solvers and independent learners. In addition, as a classroom teacher I have experience preparing students for standardized testing (MAP testing). I am practiced in teaching test taking strategies and helping students develop a growth mindset and a sense of joy and pride while doing their best to show what they know on a test.

I also have experience working with children with developmental delays and helping toddlers meet pre-school developmental milestones.
