My name is Nguyen Dao, and I com from Vietnam.

In terms of my experience, years of working as a teaching assistant, tutor, and teacher in Vietnam had imbued me with valuable and extensive experiences from many talented colleagues as well as from a diverse body of students. During the tenure, I had developed a good command of effective communication skills and various pedagogical methodologies. Apart from my transnational working experience, I currently hold a Master of Education from University of Houston, with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction. I have already completed the training by Texas Teachers’ Alternative Certification Program as a Generalist/ESL EC-6 and I have also passed the Core Subjects exams. The studies have enabled me to gain a wide range of state-of-the-art educational philosophies, principles, and pragmatic knowledge with regard to teaching and learning.

Furthermore, I had chances to broaden my hands-on experience when observing and volunteering as a literacy and ESL tutor in some public elementary schools in Houston. Last but not least, studying in such a diverse community as University of Houston and encountering the complexity of multiculturalism, multilingualism, and transnationalism in the United States firsthand had turned me into an expert in working with students from multicultural backgrounds. Being exposed to such extraordinary experiences, I realized my aspiration to pursue a pedagogical career in the U.S., where I could work with students from diverse backgrounds and thus address their educational needs.
