I have been employed with the Texas schools since 1999 in many capacities, such as classroom teacher, teacher's aide, substitute teacher, school bus driver, and track coach. I am certified to teach Elementary/Core Subjects, Special Education, ESL, Gifted and Talented, and Health. I have taught all four content areas: Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science across grades of kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and Special Education. I have served as a Grade Level Chair, LPAC Chair, and held after-school and Saturday school tutoring. I have also served on committees and organizations such as the PTA, Attendance Committee, District-Wide Action Plan Committee, Interview Committee, Multiculturalism Committee, and Chess Club Sponsor. Others include membership in the National Education Association, serving as group leader and co-leader for focus groups with the teachers union, teaching School Bus Safety classes to elementary students, serving as co-mediator for feuding staff, and even small sponsorships including running the cake walk at the Fall Festival.

I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. My bachelor's is in General Studies with a concentration in Education. I have undergrad coursework equivalent to a double major in Social/Behavioral Science and undergrad coursework equivalent to a minor in Health/PE. I earned an M.S.E. in Education with an emphasis in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) with a 3.8 GPA. My education also includes doctoral coursework from Liberty University, in which I am striving for an Ed.D in Educational Leadership.

During my tenure with the schools, I have earned the Golden Apple Award in 2022, nominee for Teacher-of-the-Year in 2020, Staff of the Week in 2013, Employee of the Month in 2009, and Employee of the Month in 2002. I received many Safe School Bus Driver awards and received the Highest standardized (STAAR) test scores campus wide in 2022.

I have always enjoyed school as both a student and a teacher, including running for school board 2x. I have been inside of a school in some capacity since I was 4 years old. I value education and serve as an advocate for all children. Outside the school sector, I serve as a remote Apartment Locator/Realtor, membership on the Chamber of Commerce, SAL (Sons of American Legion), and Notary Public.

I am looking to teach in a one-on-one setting, small group setting, or regular classroom setting. Regardless my strengths and weaknesses, earned degrees, or certifications, I am willing to help all students in any capacity so they may progress to the next grade level. It's not the grades the child earns, but the wealth of information and knowledge that the child learns.
