My name is Nolan Richardson and I am a British citizen. I have been teaching now for a little over nine years at various universities and language centres around the world, including Saudi Arabia where I taught at King Saud University for a little over three years on the preparatory year project.
My experience of working in the Middle East also covers a project I was working on in Iraqi Kurdistan where my duties evolved from teaching into a management position. This provided me with the opportunity to develop my interpersonal skills in a professional working environment, where I recognised the needs and requirements of a variety of clients from varying professions, which resulted in organising business English courses and IELTS based programmes.
I keep abreast of developments within ESL teaching and teaching practices in general through taking part in online courses organised through various educational platforms such as Coursera and edX which provide opportunities to share views with other teachers and professors who help foster a positive learning environment for both teachers and learners.
It is my hope to enrol in a Masters of Education course with a specialization in leadership and teacher development, as I would like to be play more of a pivotal role in establishing a best practice in whatever position I may hold in the future.
