I have been teaching for over 25 years: I homeschooled my kids for 20 years, taught Spanish as a substitute teacher in the local public schools for 8 years, and have had my own Spanish tutoring business for 13 years. In my private tutoring business I have helped over 350 kids, and I have 71 glowing testimonials from parents stating how I have been a huge help to their students. I have also taught as a substitute teacher in four private Christian K-8 schools, and I am currently looking to find a family who would like help with homeschooling. When I homeschool I evaluate each child's learning styles, and I choose curriculum for each subject that will work best for that child. I prefer literature-based learning, unit studies, and hands-on learning. I do also use textbooks--especially for math, but I like to use textbooks as outlines for enhancing studies. I teach from a Christian worldview; so the curriculum I choose will incorporate this view.
