I currently teach at a private school where all classes are one-on-one interactions between one student and their teacher, and this has been immensely fulfilling work. I’m able to tailor my instruction—in terms of pacing, content, and assessment—for each and every one of my students. My guiding mission as an educator is to empower my students with the skills, resources, and confidence they need to achieve their dreams, and I truly believe that building an authentic love of learning is crucial for a student’s growth.
In total, I have 7 years of professional teaching experience, and I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students across multiple subjects, such as computer science, math, french, and executive function. Most of my work is with middle and high school students, but I’ve worked with students as young as two. I also have a unique perspective of accessible education through my lived experience as a neurodivergent person.
As for my own education, I graduated from the University of California Los Angeles, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Computing. I plan to enroll in a doctorate program to earn a PhD in education-focused public policy. I am also working to be recognized as a Distinguished Modern Classroom Educator as a part of the Virtual Mentorship Program Fall 2023 cohort.
