I am a Montessori educator with 22 years of classroom experience, including 20 years as a lead teacher in authentic Montessori environments. My work has focused on creating learning spaces where children develop independence and cultivate their natural curiosity.
Over the course of my 20-year tenure, I have served as an early childhood teacher for children ages 18 months through 3rd grade. For 15 years, I have also served as an art specialist for children ages 18 months to 12 years, which has deepened my understanding of how children express themselves and develop creatively across different developmental stages. This experience has complemented my classroom teaching and provided valuable insights into the interconnected nature of child development.
Throughout my career, I have taken on additional responsibilities including mentoring new teachers and contributing to classroom design. I have also facilitated numerous parent education evenings, presenting on topics ranging from traditional Montessori education to art classes, child development topics, and educational awareness, demonstrating my ability to effectively teach and engage adult learners as well.
I hold my Associate AMS certification in early childhood education for ages 2 to 7 from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies (MECR).
My practice is grounded in Maria Montessori's philosophy that education should serve the whole child. Over two decades in the field has reinforced my belief in children's innate capacity for learning when provided with prepared environments and respectful guidance. This experience has shaped my approach to supporting both children's academic growth and their development as confident, independent learners.
